Sommary Technique
Traditional technique
The painting is preferably carried out on old furniture because it
is very dry.
After stripping, repairing and adding two coats of ”gesso”, before it
is completely dry, the outline of the design is created and then the colours are
put in place.
In order to reproduce the best luminosity of the landscapes and the
smoothness of the colours, I use a tempera consisting of egg yolk or casein
distemper.
Certain subjects are isolated by a natural resin based varnish.
To finish the furniture is polished with a preparation "patina"
made from hot beeswax, turpentine, carnauba resin and
selected pigments.
Once or twice a year the furniture should be polished with a paraffin
free wax. These
techniques are traditional. Neither
the paints or the varnish alter the woods.
